The Spear Kit contains:
1. The 1/4" Hex Arbor
2. The Connector
3. 3/8-16 x 6" threaded rod
4. 3/8-16 x 1 1/2" threaded rod
5. Allen wrench
6. Container
1. This one-piece arbor will fit in a 1/2" chuck. Extra wide flats provide for less chuck slippage, and an allen head set screw allows for better tightening on the spade bit.
2. Screw the 3/8-16 x 1 1/2" threaded rod into the connector. Next, screw the arbor into the threaded rod. Now you have an arbor that fits in a 3/8 chuck and adds a 2" extension to the arbor.
3. This configuration shows how to extend the arbor using the 3/8-16 x 6" threaded rod. Screw the jam nuts onto the 3/8 rod (two on each side,) then screw the rod into the connector and the arbor onto the rod. Then tighten the jam nuts up against the connector and arbor.
You can cut your own 3/8-16 threaded rod any length for any extension you may need.
You can use any tool with a 1/4" hex end.
