Below are descriptions of the individual pieces in the kit.
This one-piece arbor will fit in a 1/2" chuck. Extra wide flats provide for less chuck slippage, and an allen head set screw allows for better tightening on the pilot bit.
Screw the 3/8-16x1" threaded rod into the connector. Next, screw the arbor into the threaded rod. Now you have an arbor that fits in a 3/8 chuck and adds a 2" extension to the arbor.
This configuration shows how to extend the arbor using the 3/8-16x6" threaded rod. Screw the jam nuts onto the 3/8 rod (two on each side) then screw the rod into the connector and the arbor onto the rod. Then tighten the jam nuts up against the connector and arbor.
You can cut your own 3/8-16 threaded rod any length for any extension you may need. This length threaded rod is not included in kit. However it is usually available at wholesale houses and hardware stores. Sometimes you need just a 14" extension because your drill motor and extension won't fit in an area. Other times, you may need a 3' extension to get a holesaw through an area. On rare occasions, you may need a 5', 8' or even 10' extension. This is the only tool on the market that allows you to do that by just changing the length of your threaded rod. This tool is also perfect for dry wall penetrations. A threaded rod is approximately $4, which makes this tool very economical.
